Joseph Makhoul

Client Services Director

Joseph was born and raised in the coastal city of Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. Being so close to the Persian Gulf, Joseph instantly fell in love with the sea and became an expert diver. Spending his childhood beneath the hot Arabian sun, it was only natural that Joseph would later attend the University of Massachusetts, where he received a BS in Business Information Systems in 1994.

Joseph then went into the IT field in Lebanon, where he worked for a small, unknown brand named ‘Microsoft’ Feeling that there was no future in IT during the early-to-mid 90s, Joseph made a smart move and went searching for a new career. Marketing and Advertising were two choices. One offered an opportunity to work with feminine hygiene products, the other offered long hours and an early death. Joseph returned to Saudi Arabia in February 1999 to work for Foote, Cone & Belding as an Account Executive for global giants SC Johnson and Tetra Pak. He quickly rose through the ranks and in 2004, became the Regional Account Director for the MENA region.

In 2006, Joseph joined Lowe MENA as Group Account Director on the Unilever account for the Middle East and Africa region, and then moved on to become a Business Director, handling the agency’s local UAE portfolio across a diversified client mix, ranging from real estate and investment banking to telecoms. In 2010, Joseph was promoted to Client Services Director.

When it comes to work, he’s the man in the sharp suit, pacing up and down the hallways to ensure his clients get only the best and then some. He’s professional and meticulous. However, those who know and work with Joseph are also aware of his evil twin – Joe – the fun-loving, easy-going, Harley-riding, deep-sea-diving, world-traveling adrenaline junkie whose love for the open road has lead him from the highways of the Middle East to the winding streets of Southeast Asia, and across the tree-lined roads of northern Europe.

So whether it’s working on a major campaign or surviving a bungee jump off a bridge, Joseph/Joe always approaches life with great passion.
